My path is not the same as yours. God has a unique path for both of us. I hope that encourages you, it does me! Yet as different as those paths may be they have one thing in common.
His path will always be based upon his truth. His truth is our light for our path.
There are other kinds of light and other kinds of truth.
There is a masquerader of truth, satan himself who pretends to be a messenger of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14) He represents every other option that doesn’t stand up against God’s Word as truth.
I might be James writer connector and you might be Pat the amazing performer - yet as different as our paths may be - they are united as the Lord’s when His truth is the source of light for both.
There is something beautiful in that understanding. Our paths should never be at odds with one another, we don’t have to be in competition with one another. We can affirm celebrate and encourage one another all along the way! Because God is the author and finisher (Hebrews 12:2) and the great redeemer (Ephesians1:7) he knows how to work all things together (Romans 8:28).
Can I encourage you today to do something? Just look intently into God’s Word and let His voice illuminate your heart and fuel you up for the journey. If you are getting advice from Christian influences that inspire you to celebrate and promote yourself to the top maybe you should go back to the original source of light.
God will lead you in paths of righteousness (Ps 23:3) Your influence in his timing will come through humility. (James 4:10)
Take inspiration from the paths of God’s chosen men and women in his Word. They didn’t thrive because the world celebrated them as success - they succeeded because they obeyed God’s unique path for them - a path that was illuminated by His voice and His way of doing things.
Make sure the light you follow is His light. Make sure you are on the right path. Make sure you are on the clear path that is revealed by the Word of God today!
